Description:
The SS Willis B. Boyer and a Large Red Buoy. The ship is now a museum Ship moored along Toledo Ohio's International Park since 1980. Once held the title for being the World's Largest Bulk Freighter. Built in 1911 by the same co. as the Edmund Fitzgerald. (Great Lakes Engineering Works). This ship was originally named the Col. James M. Schoonmaker, after Col. Schoonmaker (a Civil War Hero, and railroad innovator). City of Toledo acquired the ship in the mid 1980's from the Cleveland Cliffs Steamship Co., thus saving it from the metal scrap yard.
